As a result, when choosing tactical equipment, sometimes there is a confusion, which we decided to clarify, explaining information about one of the best-in-class modular systems.

The MOLLE abbreviation literally stands for: MO dular L ightweight L oad-carrying E quipment. This is the name of the set of equipment developed by American specialists for the US Army. The first model was eventually refined, its consumer characteristics improved, so we come to understand why in descriptions of military equipment on western sites one can often find references to I and II generations.
But we will not delve into the history of the creation and use of the American set of military equipment, and return to the PALS. The abbreviation is decoded as follows: P ouch A ttachment L adder S ystem.
PALS - classic military genre
PALS dimensions are closely related to the English weights and measures system, which is also actively used in the USA. The width of the sling according to PALS standards is 1 inch, and the indent between seams is 1.5 inches.
Designing in inches for all who are more accustomed to the metric system is not an easy task and does not justify itself completely (the difference that can be traced at the level of technological tolerances is not so significant). Therefore, we will proceed from the fact that an inch is equal to 25 mm (the exact measure is 25.4 mm).
As for the step width, manufacturers often deviate from the generally accepted standard. So, if you take a closer look at the products of foreign and Ukrainian brands that use to create tactical equipment and army uniforms PALS, you can note that the step width varies between 35-37 mm, which does not affect the efficiency of the modular system. The ability to change the original standards without sacrificing the reliability and functionality of the product speaks of decent PALS durability.

Important! For reliable fixation of tactical equipment on the platform there must be at least 2 lines. If there are only one sling, the pouch of standard type can only be suspended, but the reliability of such an attachment cannot be discussed.
