Humanitarian demining suit VELMET
This VELMET product is intended for humanitarian demining operations. Its use presupposes finding a specialist in an area where active phases of hostilities are no longer taking place, but at the same time there is a need to neutralize explosive substances / objects.
The logic of using this suit assumes that the operator will stay in it for a long time. It is for this purpose that the product has a frontal ballistic pad and a neck protection panel. The elongated front panel should also protect the large blood vessels in the pelvic and groin areas.
The suit is equipped with a minimalistic, yet reliable and functional harness. It consists of three reliable lines. Two of which cross at the back, and the third wraps around the user's waist. The slings are equipped with the option of volume adjustment and quick shooting.
The main ballistic material of the product is Dyneema® UHMWPE. Its use made it possible to book 34 dm² in 1 class of protection against bullets according to DSTU 8782: 2018 and to reach the V50 indicator - 550 m/s according to STANAG 2920 CLASSIFICATION OF PERSONAL ARMOR. EDITION 3.
This, in turn, guarantees the retention of the suit:
- Pistol cartridge PM, 9x18 mm, cartridge "57-N-181s" in a steel casing with a steel core, weighing 5.9 g at a speed of 335 ± 10 m / s.
- Pistol cartridge Luger, 9x19 mm, cartridge "FMJ RN SC", all-metal jacket with a soft (lead) core weighing 8 g at a speed of 400 ± 10 m / s.
- Debris protection according to STANAG 2920 V 50% - 550 m/s
The suit cover is made of nylon fabric - blue Cordura 500D, with all impregnations to preserve the vitality and additional strength of the fabric.
